Visiting Hours

  • 2 South: Saturdays, 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM
  • 2 North: Saturdays, 3:00 PM – 4:00 PMCheck-in begins 15 minutes before the scheduled visitation time.

Preparing for Visitation

  • Minors under the age of 14 are not permitted for visitation.
  • If a minor will be visiting, families are strongly encouraged to discuss this with the care team to ensure it is beneficial for both the patient and the child.
  • Please make sure your loved one knows you are visiting and has added you to their approved visitation list.
  • All visitors must present photo identification and sign in upon arrival.
  • Outside food and beverages are not allowed during visits.
  • A maximum of two visitors per patient at a time is permitted. Visitors may swap out once per visiting hour.
  • If you plan to bring items for the patient, please confirm they are approved and that the patient has not already reached the maximum allowed quantity for their stay.
  • Limit personal belongings to a car key and valid ID. For safety reasons, all personal belongings—including cell phones—are not allowed. Lockers are available in the lobby to secure visitor belongings, but it is best if these items are kept in the visitor’s car.
  • Upon arrival, staff will ask screening questions for illness and will screen and wand for contraband.
  • Staff will escort you to the hospital visitation area (cafeteria) at the designated time.

  • Very few outside items are allowed in a psychiatric hospital to help create a safe environment for each patient. Anything that could be used for self-harm or could jeopardize confidentiality is strictly prohibited including cell phones.
  • Outside food is not allowed.

You can bring a limited amount of clothing for a patient. We ask that no more than a three-day supply be brought in, including pajamas. We have restrictions on items that could pose a threat or harm patients or staff. Such items are referred to as contraband. Please refrain from giving patients any sharp objects, clothing with ties, underwire or laces, chemical or hard plastic items including stuffed animals, blankets and shoes. Any hygiene products must be travel size with no alcohol. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, lotion and hairbrushes are provided.

Phone calls with patients are encouraged during free time. Exceptions will be made if clinically indicated. Unit phones are made available to patients and located in the unit hallways. We ask patients to limit their calls to 10 minutes so that other patients can access the phone.

You can send mail and address it to your loved one. Please note, for safety reasons all mail will be opened in front of a staff member. Flowers are not allowed on the units.
